A 5.8 magnitude earthquake – according to the automatic assessment by the Geodynamic Institute – struck at 2:17 am on Tuesday in the sea northeast of Rhodes.

Initial data indicate that the epicentre was located 21 km northeast of the island, with a focal depth of 64.9 km.
